The most frequently used campaign image is simple - photographs of 'hen pecked' battery hens in cramped conditions. In the case of battery hens, the reality is probably more horrific and stunning than any invented campaign image. Forceful facts can also be used, such as the fact that a battery hen is given less space then an A4 Piece of paper - something everyone can imagine.
Demonstrations and street campaigning include the use of scaled-up versions of the battery cage, with famous individuals imprisoned inside (to attract publicity), or individuals dressed in hen costumes.
